Payments & Shipping
Payment and shipping methods determine how customers can pay for their orders and receive physical products.
Create the methods required by your store, configure their conditions, and publish them when they are ready to use.
To access these sections, go to:
Components → MirandaPlace → Sales → Payment Methods
Components → MirandaPlace → Sales → Shipping Methods
The methods displayed at checkout depend on publication status, customer-group restrictions, and the conditions applicable to the order.
Create a payment method and enter a clear customer-facing title, such as Bank Transfer or Credit Card.
Select the gateway type, complete its configuration, and set the publication status.
MirandaPlace provides the following payment types:
Payment type | Processing |
|---|---|
Bank transfer | Offline payment using the bank details you provide. |
PostePay | Offline payment using the payment details you provide. |
Cash on delivery | Payment collected when the order is delivered. |
PayPal Standard | Online payment through the PayPal Standard integration. |
PayPal Checkout | Online payment through the PayPal Checkout integration. |
Stripe Checkout | Online payment through Stripe’s hosted checkout. |
Online integrations require their corresponding MirandaPlace payment plugins to be installed and enabled.
Descriptions & Instructions
Use the available description and instruction fields to explain the payment method to customers.
For offline methods, provide the relevant details, such as the account holder, bank information, or payment reference instructions.
Publication
Only published methods are available for selection at checkout.
Publishing a method does not make it available to every customer: customer-group restrictions and the method’s configuration still apply.
Offline Payments
Bank transfer, PostePay, and Cash on delivery do not automatically verify that money has been received.
Review the payment outside MirandaPlace and update the order through the permitted manual status workflow.
Selecting an offline method at checkout does not itself confirm payment.
See Orders → Order Status & Customer Notifications for the supported status changes.
PayPal Standard
Configure the receiving PayPal business email, environment, currency, and available redirect settings.
PayPal Standard uses its own payment-notification flow. It is a separate integration from PayPal Checkout and does not use the same credential configuration.
PayPal Checkout
Configure the PayPal application credentials for the required environment.
Sandbox and live credentials belong to their respective environments and must not be mixed.
Use Verify and configure to validate the connection and configure the webhook for the selected environment.
Stripe Checkout
Configure the Stripe keys for the selected test or live environment.
Use Verify and configure to validate the connection and configure the corresponding webhook.
Stripe Checkout also provides a payment-method selection mode:
- Dynamic — lets Stripe determine the eligible payment options.
- Manual — uses the payment-method types entered in the configuration, subject to Stripe’s eligibility rules.
Public Notification Endpoint
Online payment notifications require the website’s notification endpoint to be reachable by the provider.
A website running only on a local computer cannot receive public provider notifications directly.
Payment Confirmation
Returning to the website after visiting a payment provider is not, by itself, confirmation that the order has been paid.
MirandaPlace processes verified provider responses and notifications before applying the corresponding payment outcome.
An order can therefore remain pending while payment verification is still in progress.
Reviewing Payment Activity
Open the order detail to inspect the available payment attempts, references, and verified events.
Where supported, payment reconciliation can check the provider’s recorded outcome and update the local order accordingly.
Retrying a Payment
Eligible registered customers may see Pay now for a pending or failed order when the gateway supports payment retry.
This retries payment for the existing order rather than creating another purchase.
Availability also depends on the method remaining published and the order satisfying the retry conditions.
Refunds
Refund availability depends on the gateway, payment state, and remaining refundable amount.
Use the dedicated refund workflow. Changing an order label is not a substitute for returning funds through the provider.
See Withdrawals, Returns & Refunds for details.
Changing an Existing Method
Existing orders retain their recorded gateway information, but subsequent payment operations still depend on the linked method’s configuration.
Before replacing credentials, changing environments, or removing a method, consider any pending payments and historical orders that may still require reconciliation or refunds.
Use a separate method when you need to preserve an existing configuration for those operations.
Shipping methods apply when the cart contains physical products requiring fulfilment.
Download, Service, and Access products do not require physical shipping. In a mixed cart, physical items determine the shipping requirements.
Create a shipping method with a clear title and select the appropriate profile.
Flat Rate
Charges the configured base shipping amount.
Where configured, a per-item charge is added according to the quantity of shippable items.
Free Shipping Above a Threshold
Uses the configured base amount below the threshold and sets the base shipping charge to zero when the relevant cart total reaches the threshold.
A separately configured per-item charge can still increase the final amount. Leave that charge at zero when the qualifying shipment should be completely free.
Free Shipping
Provides a method with a zero base shipping charge.
Review any additional charge settings to ensure that the final result matches the intended offer.
Pickup
Pickup allows customers to collect their order at a configured location without a shipping charge.
Add one or more pickup points to the method. Each point can contain:
- name and address;
- contact details;
- opening hours;
- collection instructions;
- publication status.
The pickup method appears at checkout only when it has at least one published pickup point.
Customers select the collection point during checkout. The order preserves the selected location’s details, so subsequent edits do not change the information recorded for that purchase.
Destination Restrictions
Use the country and state/province selections to restrict where a method is available.
Empty selections impose no restriction at that level.
Customer-group restrictions may further limit the available shipping methods.
Weight & Volume Limits
A method can define maximum weight and volume limits.
These limits use:
- kilograms for weight;
- cubic centimetres for volume.
MirandaPlace converts the product measurements from their configured units before evaluating the shipping conditions.
Accurate product weights, dimensions, and units are therefore important for measurement-based shipping.
Shipping Tax
Where applicable, select the shipping tax rate.
The resulting shipping amount follows the store’s tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive price configuration and the applicable destination tax context.
See Taxes & Coupons for tax configuration.
Advanced Rules
The Advanced Rules profile calculates shipping using locally configured rules.
Its calculation options include weight, volume, and volumetric weight.
Use it when a single flat rate does not adequately describe your shipping conditions.
GLS
The GLS profile calculates shipping using locally configured rates and conditions. It does not retrieve live quotations from GLS.
The carrier integration has not yet been tested with an active GLS account. Automated shipment booking and label generation are not currently available through the MirandaPlace order workflow.
Create shipments through your usual GLS tools and record tracking information in the order.
UPS
The UPS profile includes manual rates and an API quotation integration.
The API integration has not yet been tested with an active UPS account. Validate it with your carrier account before using API quotations for customer orders.
API configuration requires the relevant credentials and shipment-origin information.
Plugin Availability
Advanced Rules, GLS, and UPS require their corresponding shipping plugins.
A method that cannot produce an eligible quotation is not automatically treated as free shipping.
How Methods Are Selected
At checkout, MirandaPlace evaluates the available methods against the order and customer information.
For shipping, this can include:
- publication status;
- destination;
- customer-group restrictions;
- weight and volume;
- pickup-point availability;
- the ability to calculate a valid rate.
Payment methods must also satisfy their publication, configuration, and customer-group conditions.
An empty customer-group method selection means that the group imposes no additional restriction. It does not override the method’s own rules.
Final Shipping Calculation
The shipping quotation is checked again when the order is placed.
A previously displayed estimate does not guarantee that an unavailable method or outdated rate will be accepted.
After the Order Is Created
Shipping-rate configuration and shipment fulfilment are separate operations.
Use the order detail to record the carrier, tracking information, shipment date, delivery date, and shipping status.
The shipment controls do not automatically book a courier, generate a carrier label, or synchronize delivery progress.
See Orders → Shipment Management for the operational workflow.
Checking Your Configuration
Before making a method available to customers, verify the relevant checkout scenarios:
- successful and unsuccessful online payments in the provider’s test environment;
- receipt and processing of payment notifications;
- offline payment instructions;
- eligible and excluded shipping destinations;
- shipping thresholds and measurement limits;
- pickup-point selection;
- customer-group restrictions.
For online payments, confirm the result in the MirandaPlace order as well as in the provider’s test account.
