MirandaPlace Docs
Customer Area
The Customer Area gives registered customers a central place to review purchases, access available documents and downloads, contact support, and update their account information.
Its sections adapt to the customer’s purchases and the features enabled in the store.
Providing Access
Create a Joomla menu item using the MirandaPlace Customer Area menu-item type and publish it in the appropriate website menu.
Visitors who are not logged in are directed to the login page.
Guest-order access uses a separate protected flow and does not provide access to the full registered Customer Area.
The Customer Area displays an overview and navigation tabs for the available services.
These can include:
- Orders;
- Invoices;
- Downloads;
- Access;
- Withdrawals;
- Support;
- Profile.
Some sections appear only when the customer has relevant records. For example, invoice and credit-note documents make the Invoices section available.
The Support section depends on whether customer support tickets are enabled.
An absent tab does not necessarily indicate a configuration problem.
Personal Information
Customers can access only the records and protected resources associated with their account.
Signing in with a different account does not provide access to another customer’s orders, documents, or downloads.
Order History
The Orders section lists the customer’s purchases and provides access to individual order details.
Customers can review the available order information, including purchased items, totals, status, and shipment details.
Paying an Existing Order
Eligible orders may display Pay now.
This action is available when the order and its payment method support another payment attempt.
It retries payment for the existing order rather than creating a new purchase. Availability depends on the order status, amount, and gateway capabilities.
Completing the provider’s browser flow does not itself confirm payment: MirandaPlace still verifies the payment outcome.
Invoices
The Invoices section lists available invoice documents and provides PDF downloads.
Issued documents retain their recorded transaction information. Updating a profile does not rewrite an existing invoice.
Credit Notes
Available credit notes are displayed with their references to the original invoice and order.
Customers can download the PDF when it is available.
FatturaPA XML exports belong to the merchant’s administrative workflow.
See Orders and Invoices & Credit Notes for further details.
Purchased Downloads
The Downloads section provides access to files associated with eligible purchases.
Download availability follows the purchased conditions, including payment status, expiry, and any download-count limits.
A file remaining visible in the purchase history does not necessarily mean it is still downloadable.
Access Products
The Access section displays the customer’s purchased access records and their available resources.
Depending on the product, these can include validity information, download collections, and licences.
Access is subject to the purchased conditions and current entitlement status.
Licence Generation
Where the purchase permits customer-generated licences, the available action allows the customer to generate them within the applicable allowance.
The interface displays the relevant licence information and associated site information when available.
Generating a licence does not create another purchase or increase the purchased allowance.
Protected Resources
Downloads are checked when requested. Being logged in or possessing an old download link does not override expiry, suspension, or other access conditions.
For the detailed purchasing rules, see Products → Digital Downloads & Access.
Withdrawal Requests
Where the corresponding section and eligible orders are available, customers can submit a withdrawal request.
The request flow presents the applicable items and allows the customer to provide the required quantities and request information.
Eligibility follows the information recorded with the order, including customer type, product policy, dates, and previous requests.
Submitting a request starts the review process. It does not immediately refund the payment.
See Withdrawals, Returns & Refunds for the merchant’s processing workflow.
Support Tickets
When support is enabled, customers can open a ticket from the Support section.
The form provides the available order and product references, subject, message, and attachment controls.
Customers can review their ticket conversations and send replies where the ticket allows them.
Attachments are accessed through protected ticket links.
See Support Tickets for the complete configuration and handling process.
The Profile section displays account information and the saved billing and shipping details.
Use the edit action to update the available fields, then select Save.
Account Information
Customers can update their name, username, and account email through the profile form, subject to validation.
Changing the username, account email, or password requires the current password.
Changing the Password
Enter and confirm a new password when a password change is required.
The password must satisfy the configured Joomla password requirements.
Leave the new-password fields empty to retain the current password.
Customer Type
The Private or Business customer type is displayed for reference.
It cannot be changed through the profile form.
Commercial customer-group assignments are managed by the merchant and are separate from the customer type.
Billing Details
Customers can update the available billing contact, address, and identification fields.
The account email and billing email are separate fields and should be checked independently.
Shipping Details
Customers can use the billing address for shipping or provide separate shipping details.
The profile provides saved billing and shipping information; it is not a collection of multiple named delivery addresses.
Existing Purchases
Profile changes update the customer’s current information.
Previously created orders and issued documents preserve the details recorded for those transactions.
Checking the Customer Experience
After configuring the Customer Area, verify it using a customer account with representative purchases.
Check that the customer can:
- open their orders;
- download available PDFs and purchased files;
- view applicable Access and licence information;
- use support when enabled;
- submit an eligible withdrawal request;
- save profile changes successfully.
